[Hiring] Senior Settlement & Trading Operations Engineer @zerohash

Role Description

zerohash is looking for a Senior Settlement & Trading Operations Engineer to help drive the operations behind our global value transfer infrastructure. This is a hands-on role with real ownership:

• Resolve complex settlement and trading breaks.
• Act as a subject matter expert for peers.
• Coordinate day-to-day operations and mentor colleagues.
• Write SQL & Python, dig through transaction logs, and coordinate releases with Product and Engineering.
• Support teammates during critical operational moments.

Responsibilities

• Own daily settlement and trading operations.
• Oversee end-to-end processing of crypto and fiat movements — deposits, withdrawals, internal transfers, and sweeps.
• Run reconciliations that actually reconcile.
• Perform multi-way checks across internal ledgers, bank and custodian statements, and partner float files.
• Manage the trade lifecycle.
• Get to the bottom of things by chasing failed transfers and mismatched balances.
• Automate repetitive work by writing and maintaining Python scripts.
• Support partner go-lives and asset listing.
• Work with AI tooling to draft and debug scripts.
• Report on operational health by building and maintaining dashboards and data models.
• Be a technical point of contact for institutional partners.
• Participate in the team's on-call rotation and share responsibility for off-hours coverage.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in financial operations, settlement, payments, or a related technical back-office role.
• Strong Python skills for writing, debugging, and maintaining scripts.
• Strong SQL skills with comfort in multi-table joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.
• Hands-on experience with AI tooling.
• API fluency and solid understanding of API design.
• Attention to detail in environments where errors carry financial consequences.
• Clear communication skills for explaining technical issues to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Requirements

• Experience mentoring or leading others.
• Crypto, stablecoin, or digital asset experience is a plus.
