[Hiring] Senior Security Engineer @Azumo

Role Description

Azumo is hiring a Senior Security Engineer to own the technical security posture of production AI systems. The role is fully remote across Latin America, aligned to your client's working day.

• Ownership of security across pipelines, infrastructure, and AI systems.
• Identify and close gaps or breaches in security.
• Platform and infrastructure hardening:
  • Cloud infrastructure, APIs, internal tooling, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Encryption, secrets management, logging, and access controls.
• Vulnerability management and offensive security:
  • Scanning, penetration testing, adversarial testing, and threat modeling.
  • Drive remediation to closure, not just to ticket.
• AI and agent security:
  • Prompt-injection defense and adversarial-input testing.
  • Guardrails for tool-calling and agentic systems.
• Monitoring AI systems for anomalies, abuse attempts, and unsafe decisions.
• Automated security, cost, and architecture audit across client codebases.
• Monitoring, detection, and incident response:
  • Alerting and detection for hardened systems.
  • Lead response: containment, remediation plan, and preventative change.
• Customer and partner security engagement:
  • Security questionnaires and vendor risk assessments.
  • Explain architecture and controls directly to clients.
• Secure development practices:
  • Work with engineering teams on architecture reviews and secure patterns.
  • Discuss trade-offs between security, reliability, and delivery speed.
• Work inside the client's environment, including their repositories and tooling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, application security, DevSecOps, or offensive security.
• Deep knowledge of the AWS ecosystem and ability to secure it under production pressure.
• Experience identifying and remediating vulnerabilities in live production systems.
• Experience securing AI or LLM-powered systems or automated agents.
• Working knowledge of compliance frameworks: SOC 2, PCI DSS.
• Self-directed prioritization in a fast-moving environment.
• Active use of AI-assisted coding tools in delivery work.
• Strong communication skills to explain findings directly to engineers and clients.
• Clear written and spoken English, C1 or above.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Requirements

• Familiarity with prompt-injection attacks and adversarial AI techniques.
• Experience with cloud security tooling, SIEM, and observability platforms.
• Prior experience in high-growth startup, fintech, banking, or payments environments.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, AWS Security Specialty, or similar.
• Contributions to open-source security tooling or active participation in the security community.
