Role Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) professional to join our LCA team within the Circularity & Value Chain Transformation team. Our clients are increasingly seeking help to identify business and sustainability impact opportunities, leveraging lifecycle analysis to identify hotspots and implement decarbonization plans.

This role will be focused on providing the technical leadership, rigorous quality assurance, and strategic insight required to guide our clients on their sustainability journey. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials science or engineering, more than five years of LCA experience, and a proven ability to deliver high-quality work aligned with international standards and industry-specific frameworks.

We are looking for someone who combines analytical rigour with commercial and strategic thinking:

Strong storytelling is essential. The ability to turn complex analysis into clear recommendations that resonate with the intended audience is one of the most important aspects of this role.

They must be able to develop deep technical expertise across a wide range of sectors. Beyond LCA proficiency, this role requires an understanding of the complexities and challenges of diverse value chains, which is critical for identifying hotspots and levers within client products and services.

Qualifications

  • Degree in materials science, engineering, or related technical field
  • PhD in LCA or related fields is highly valued
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on LCA experience across diverse sectors
  • Proficiency in LCA tools: SimaPro, OpenLCA, Excel; GaBi experience is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of key product footprinting standards and frameworks
  • Experience using AI tools to support, accelerate or improve workflows
  • Proven experience in substantiating Green Claims based on LCA results
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with GHG inventories and corporate carbon footprinting
  • Excellent client engagement skills
  • Experience in managing multiple complex projects
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • High proficiency in Excel
  • Strong Power BI skills are highly valued
  • Proficiency in English is required; Fluency in Spanish/French/German is a plus
  • A proactive improvement mindset

Requirements

  • Serve as a technical lead for LCA projects, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and sector-specific frameworks
  • Perform quality assurance on LCA models and deliverables using SimaPro (mainly) and Excel
  • Review and validate results against recognized LCA methodologies and client-specific requirements
  • Support proposal development, including responding to RFPs and creating tailored solutions for clients
  • Translate complex technical analysis into clear, succinct and compelling deliverables
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and design bespoke approaches
  • Collaborate on business development initiatives to expand LCA service offerings
  • Provide guidance on GHG inventories and the intersection of product carbon footprints and corporate carbon accounting
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of LCA expertise within the organization
  • Manage multiple projects and workstreams effectively
  • Apply strong, pragmatic judgement, critical thinking and proactive problem-solving
