Role Description

The Senior MDM Data Steward serves as the authoritative steward for patient and provider domains for master data across the Enterprise Data Platform, providing leadership for the operational governance, quality, and integrity of enterprise identity data. This role owns the stewardship framework supporting patient and provider master records and is accountable for ensuring that Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) patient global identifiers and MDM provider global identifiers within the Silver (conformed canonical) layer remain accurate, complete, traceable, and trusted for analytics, reporting, regulatory compliance, operational decision-making, and AI-driven use cases.

• Lead identity resolution activities and establish stewardship standards.
• Identify data quality risks and drive remediation efforts across source systems.
• Oversee survivorship rule execution and serve as the primary escalation point for identity-related issues.
• Maintain governance of patient and provider business glossary terms and data quality rules.
• Ensure critical business and technical metadata remains current and aligned with enterprise data governance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 7+ years of experience in healthcare data stewardship, health information management (HIM), patient identity, provider data management, or MDM operations.
• Hands-on experience with an enterprise EMPI or MDM platform, including steward queue management and duplicate remediation.
• Working knowledge of healthcare patients and provider data structures and workflows.
• Proficient SQL skills and the ability to independently query Snowflake.
• Understanding of HIPAA privacy and security requirements as applied to identity data.
• Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives.

Requirements

• Provider data expertise, including NPI/NPPES, taxonomy, state licensure, credentialing lifecycle, payer enrollment, locations, affiliations, and organizational relationships.
• Ability to document standards, facilitate cross-functional decisions, and train operational users.
• Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.
