Role Description

BeOne is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Digital & Technology Systems Engineering. This is a hands-on technical delivery role within the Systems Engineering capability area, reporting to the Senior Director, Global Digital & Technology Systems Engineering. Responsibilities include executing assigned systems engineering activities across R&D systems, externally developed platforms, integrations, and foundational ML, AI, genAI patterns.

• Translate defined technical standards, architecture direction, implementation plans, and operational expectations into reliable delivery across assigned systems and workstreams.
• Partner with Global Technology Solutions (Enterprise IT), vendors, R&D stakeholders, and GRDTS peers to ensure solutions align with enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, identity management, cloud, operational, and compliance standards.
• Contribute practical systems engineering expertise across hybrid cloud, SaaS, high-performance computing (HPC), containerized environments, data pipeline integration, platform observability, and emerging AI architecture patterns.
• Focus on delivery quality, documentation, issue resolution, operational readiness, and sustained technical supportability.
• Raise risks and dependencies early, provide transparent execution updates, and ensure assigned systems engineering work is scalable, secure, compliant, and fit for R&D scientific and business use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above.
• 3+ years of professional experience in data, digital, information technology, AI, systems engineering, cloud, infrastructure, integration, platform engineering, or related technical delivery roles, preferably in Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, and/or Medical Device industries.
• Experience coordinating technical work across cross-functional, matrixed, vendor, Enterprise IT, or engineering teams.
• Practical experience with systems engineering for externally developed platforms, SaaS solutions, integration architectures, observability practices, cloud/hybrid infrastructure, and technical application lifecycle activities.
• Hands-on experience with ML/AI/genAI end-to-end development & deployment from a systems engineering perspective.
• Ability to partner with Enterprise IT, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, identity management, compliance, audit, vendors, and R&D stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of software lifecycle methodologies, GxP computer systems validation (CSV), and pharmaceutical industry compliance considerations.
• Strong communication, documentation, technical analysis, issue management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Proficient in project and delivery practices such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, release management, and operational readiness planning.

Requirements

• Hands-on programming experience with Python and SQL for automation, data pipeline integration, API testing, platform scripting, and technical troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript for web application integration, workflow automation, and lightweight front-end or API-driven solution delivery.
• Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell, or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with R for scientific, statistical, or analytics workflows is preferred.
• Practical understanding of REST APIs, event-driven integration, JSON / XML data exchange, and secure system-to-system connectivity.
• Experience with cloud and platform engineering practices across AWS and/or Azure.
• Working knowledge of containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with DevOps and release practices, including Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Technical awareness of high-performance computing (HPC), Linux environments, and workload patterns supporting compute-intensive scientific use cases.
• Applied knowledge of ML / AI / genAI implementation patterns.
• Ability to implement observability and supportability practices.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, identity and access management, data protection, and compliance expectations in regulated R&D environments.
