[Hiring] Senior Manager, Detection Engineering & Threat Hunting @Huntress

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced leader to own the strategy, execution, and growth of our North American Detection Engineering & Threat Hunting (DE&TH) operations.

• Align with the DE&TH Director on the overarching 18-month vision.
• Drive the operational tempo and outcomes for your region.
• Provide weekly supervision to focus on scaling the team, managing regional hiring/budgeting, and serving as a strategic partner to Product and Engineering.
• Manage a team of technical practitioners.
• Operationalize our "hunt-to-detect" feedback loop at scale.
• Collaborate with counterparts in other regions for seamless, 24/7 global defense.

Responsibilities

• Regional Operational Leadership: Own the execution of the DE&TH mission for the North America region.
• Team Scaling & Talent Strategy: Manage and grow a team of practitioners, responsible for hiring strategy, capacity modeling, and performance management.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Strategize with leaders in Product, Engineering, and Security.
• Global Collaboration: Partner closely with regional managers in EMEA/APAC to ensure consistent standards and shared knowledge.
• Incident Command: Serve as the senior leadership point of contact for DE&TH during North American business hours.
• Efficacy & Accountability: Track and report on key performance indicators and drive systemic improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading technical security teams (Detection Engineering, Hunting, or IR).
• Experience managing distributed or remote teams.
• Ability to balance local autonomy with global alignment.
• Possess technical depth to guide Staff/Principal Engineers.
• Skilled advocate for your team with effective communication skills.

Requirements

• Understanding of "Detection-as-Code" principles and adversary tradecraft.
• Ability to adjudicate complex technical disagreements.
• Effective negotiation skills with Product/Engineering for necessary tooling and telemetry.
