[Hiring] Senior Manager, Business Technology Enablement @Airbnb

Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead BizTech Enablement and Innovation (BEI), BizTech's solutions partner to the rest of the company. You will report to the Director, Tech Foundations.

This is a strategic leadership role within a large business unit. For the next 18 months, the team's focus is AI. You will own the company's approach to AI adoption and impact outside of Engineering, set the vision for AI-enabled work, hold functions accountable to measurable outcomes, and serve as BizTech's primary partner to E-Team leaders on AI transformation.

Success in this role is measured in business outcomes, not tool rollouts:

• Functions that have redesigned their work around technology and AI.
• Defined their own impact metrics.
• Show the efficiency and quality gains.
• Supported by a simpler tool landscape with fewer duplicate and unsupported tools.

A Typical Day

• Help define and own the multi-year strategy for AI adoption and impact across Airbnb's non-technical functions.
• Assess current gaps, existing capabilities, and emerging AI trends to anticipate how functions will need to work 18 to 24 months out.
• Simplify the tools business teams use by steering them to supported solutions.
• Set organizational OKRs and success criteria for near and long-term initiatives.
• Make and communicate hard trade-offs across competing functional demands.
• Serve as the senior BizTech partner to leadership teams on AI transformation.
• Establish the framework for defining, measuring, and reporting the business impact of AI.
• Build a metric-driven accountability culture.
• Tailor narratives for different audiences.
• Seek feedback from partner teams and use it to improve delivery.
• Listen actively and anticipate where change will meet resistance.
• Design and continuously refine the operating model that connects different technical functions.
• Shape the enablement approach for AI usage.
• Partner with platform and product teams to influence the AI tooling roadmap.
• Direct external partner and consulting engagements.
• Set quality, reliability, and security standards for AI solutions.
• Make sure tech debt and long-term upkeep of shipped solutions are prioritized.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary, globally distributed organization.
• Create a team environment that values constructive debate and fosters belonging.
• Build an 18+ month talent plan and a succession pipeline.
• Coach, mentor, and grow the team.
• Pilot new technologies with business teams.
• Coach leaders across functions to connect AI capabilities to business value.
• Establish mechanisms that turn learnings from individual functions into reusable patterns.
• Represent BizTech in company-wide AI forums.
• Role model Airbnb's core values.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of industry experience in business technology, enterprise systems, digital transformation, or technical program leadership.
• 5+ years leading managers and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated track record setting and delivering multi-year strategy for a company-wide technology or transformation program.
• Experience leading business technology consulting, solutions engineering, or IT business partnering for non-technical teams.
• Experience owning the quality, reliability, and support of technology solutions in production.
• Experience building trusted relationships with C-level and E-Team executives.
• Deep understanding of generative AI tools and agentic workflows.
• Strong analytical judgment.
• Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and rapid change.
• Experience designing operating models across multiple teams and organizations.
• Experience attracting, hiring, and developing senior talent and managers across regions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise AI adoption or change management at a large technology company.
• Experience managing external consulting partners and globally distributed teams.
• Ability to travel as needed, approximately 10 to 20%.

Your Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.

How We'll Take Care of You

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors.

• Base pay range: $204,000 — $255,000 USD.
• This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
