Role Description

The Senior Housing Services Specialist role involves coordinating and processing applications for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program. Responsibilities include:

• Performing a variety of technical, complex, and specialized duties in the administration of rental assistance programs.
• Assuming responsibility for complex programmatic areas and providing lead direction and training to lower-level staff.
• Determining initial and continuing program eligibility and rental obligations.
• Explaining housing programs and rights to applicants, residents, and property owners.
• Participating in special projects and serving as team lead as assigned.
• Maintaining manual and computerized records.
• Performing related duties as assigned.

Candidates achieving a passing score in this recruitment will be placed in a candidate pool for six (6) months to fill vacancies as they arise.

• Knowledge of administrative regulations, policies, and procedures governing rental assistance programs.
• Principles and practices of housing assistance and public housing programs.
• Eligibility, recertification, and case management practices.
• Basic interviewing techniques and principles.
• Public and private social services programs and resources.
• Research and reporting methods.
• Applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Customer service techniques.
• Modern equipment and communication tools.

Benefits

• Salary range: $34.27-47.98/Hourly (DOQ).
• Initial salary placement typically falls between the start and mid-point of the posted range.
• Annual merit-based salary increases contingent upon performance ratings.
