[Hiring] Senior Field Service Technician @24-MAG

Role Description

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced field service technicians with deep expertise in equipment troubleshooting, electrical schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, PLCs, industrial controls, and complex service environments to contribute to advanced AI training and technical evaluation initiatives.

Selected professionals will:

• Analyse equipment faults
• Interpret technical diagrams and control logic
• Evaluate service and maintenance scenarios
• Document expert diagnostic reasoning grounded in real-world field experience

No prior AI experience is required; practical troubleshooting and service expertise are the primary qualifications.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on equipment troubleshooting experience
• Background in industrial equipment, HVAC, elevators, hydraulics, heavy vehicles, marine, rail, utilities, telecom, or related service environments
• Advanced ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Deep familiarity with PLCs and industrial controls
• Practical experience identifying equipment faults and root causes
• Strong knowledge of field maintenance and repair procedures
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 and NFPA 79 requirements
• Working knowledge of ASME A17.1 where relevant
• Understanding of OSHA-related safety requirements
• Strong analytical and diagnostic reasoning skills
• Ability to translate technical evidence into practical service decisions
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience preparing technical service reports or work instructions is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail across complex troubleshooting workflows
• Ability to work independently in a remote professional environment
• No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Requirements

• Independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Compensation: $60–$110/hour
• Work will involve equipment troubleshooting, diagram interpretation, PLC analysis, technical reporting, and service evaluation
• Assignments may span industrial, HVAC, elevator, heavy-equipment, marine, rail, utility, and telecom systems
• Contributors may review electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, pneumatic diagrams, control logic, and service documentation
• Strong real-world diagnostic judgement is central to the engagement
• Relevant U.S. codes and standards may be incorporated into project scenarios
• Contributors will be expected to explain fault diagnosis and corrective actions clearly
• Project scope, equipment types, and technical materials may vary depending on project requirements
• Work must be completed without using confidential, proprietary, export-controlled, customer-restricted, or otherwise protected service information, schematics, controls data, manuals, or technical documentation belonging to any employer, client, manufacturer, utility, institution, or other third party
