Position Summary:  

The Senior Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing core operational functions across assigned business units. This role ensures seamless coordination between internal teams, technology, and external partners to deliver high-quality, efficient services. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader who drives process improvement, operational excellence, and cross-functional alignment to support MDpanel’s continued growth and commitment to service delivery excellence. 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership across core operational functions, which may include intake, case preparation, scheduling, logistics, and workflow coordination. 
  • Develop and execute long-term operational strategies aligned with organizational goals, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. 
  • Establish and maintain performance standards and KPIs to ensure service level agreements (SLAs), compliance, and quality expectations are met or exceeded. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, offshore teams, and key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and accountability. 
  • Lead workforce planning and resource allocation efforts, ensuring optimal staffing levels to support business growth while maintaining cost efficiency. 
  • Partner with technology and analytics teams to leverage data insights and automation to streamline workflows, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Collaborate with Finance to manage operational budgets, analyze cost structures, and implement cost-effective practices. 
  • Serve as a key business partner to P&L and service line leaders, participating in strategic planning, business reviews, and execution of initiatives. 
  • Foster strong collaboration with cross-functional departments, including Client Success, MDpanel Care Team, Training, Human Resources, Finance, and Technology. 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop operations managers and their teams through structured training, SOP development, and performance coaching. 
  • Collaborate with MDpanel University to shape onboarding and training programs that ensure operational staff are equipped with necessary tools and knowledge. 
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, platforms, and service models; lead pilots and perform ROI analysis to inform innovation and adoption decisions. 

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred) 
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, preferably within healthcare, legal services, or a tech-enabled services organization. 
  • Experience managing remote, hybrid, and/or offshore teams. 
  • Proven track record of driving process improvement, workflow optimization, and cross-functional collaboration at scale. 
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams through periods of growth, change, or digital transformation. 

Skills & Competencies: 

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and proactively implement solutions. 
  • Deep understanding of operational metrics, KPIs, and performance management frameworks. 
  • Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation. 
  • Familiarity with compliance and quality assurance practices, particularly in regulated industries. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence stakeholders across all levels. 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to build, mentor, and retain high-performing teams. 
  • Comfortable working with and integrating workflow technologies, case management systems, or SaaS platforms.  

Preferred: 

  • Experience in medical-legal services, insurance claims, or independent medical evaluations (IMEs) is highly desirable. 
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies. 
  • Proficiency with productivity tools and platforms (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Salesforce, Power BI, etc.).
