[Hiring] Senior Director, Excelerate Sourcing @Vizient

Role Description

In this role, you will provide senior leadership to manage and execute strategies for a customized contract and program portfolio that meets the unique needs of Excelerate Strategic Sourcing, LLC members. You will lead a provider-led, physician-engaged strategic sourcing model, delivering best-in-class contracting strategies that address clinical variation and drive sustainable cost reduction. You will partner closely with Cleveland Clinic, OhioHealth, Vizient, and supplier stakeholders to advance innovative sourcing solutions, ensure operational excellence, and deliver measurable quality, cost, and growth outcomes for the joint venture.

• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives, including opportunity identification, strategy development, clinical engagement, supplier negotiations, contract development, and implementation packaging.
• Facilitate Excelerate’s contract approval processes, including preparation for and leadership oversight of the governance committee meetings.
• Establish and maintain strong strategic relationships with Cleveland Clinic leadership, Excelerate members, Vizient stakeholders, and supplier partners.
• Develop and lead a joint Vizient and Cleveland Clinic sourcing team to execute a robust sourcing pipeline delivering sustained member value and competitive pricing.
• Oversee management of Excelerate’s customized contract portfolio to ensure alignment with clinical, quality, and cost objectives.
• Drive continuous process improvement to enhance sourcing effectiveness, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
• Ensure sourcing strategies deliver measurable quality and cost-saving value while supporting revenue growth for the joint venture.
• Monitor market dynamics and technology trends to advance innovative sourcing strategies that expand Excelerate’s impact and growth.
• Oversee sourcing-related business operations, including supplier management, compliance, analytics, price management, rebate management, and communications.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred.
• 10 or more years of relevant experience required.
• Experience in a GPO or strategic sourcing environment preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in healthcare supply cost management, contracting, and complex stakeholder coordination.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams through collaborative leadership.
• Strong business acumen with excellent communication and presentation skills for executive and physician audiences.
• Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
• Experience developing customized, consultative solutions for large, complex organizations.
• Willingness to travel.

Requirements

• At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $206,000.00.
• This position is also incentive eligible.
