[Hiring] Senior BIM Manager @AECOM

Role Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior BIM (Digital Design) Manager to lead digital delivery across our hyperscale data center portfolio. Reporting to and working alongside the Senior BIM Manager Lead, this role implements and enforces, at the project level, the firmwide BIM standards, execution plans, and coordination workflows that the Senior BIM Manager Lead owns. A central focus of the role is overseeing our U.S. BIM staff and global enterprise-capabilities (EC) partners and holding them accountable.

• Monitor work against project standards, scope, and schedule.
• Drive timely correction of deficiencies.
• Step in on occasion when project deliverables are in jeopardy of missing a deadline.

This is a remote position open to candidates across the United States, with a hybrid option available for those near an AECOM office. Although the position is primarily remote, periodic travel may be required for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other business-critical activities.

• BIM Standards & Execution:
  • Implement and tailor project-level BIM standards within the firmwide framework.
  • Develop and maintain project BEP and related documentation.
  • Lead administration of the project Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Run BIM kickoff meetings for all phases.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and information-delivery milestones.
• Oversight & Accountability:
  • Oversee day-to-day BIM production performed by U.S. BIM staff and EC teams.
  • Hold teams accountable to agreed quality, scope, and schedule.
  • Conduct regular QA reviews and visually inspect models.
  • Clarify scope and modeling expectations to teams.
  • Maintain accountability records for performance visibility.
• Hands-On Production & Quality Backfill:
  • Step in to produce, correct, or complete model content directly.
  • Perform hands-on Revit production across disciplines as needed.
  • Resolve BIM design and modeling issues directly.
  • Create smart-object content and templates to support production.
• Project Delivery, Coordination & Reporting:
  • Setup and/or verify project models.
  • Establish and/or run multidisciplinary model coordination across projects.
  • Oversee model lifecycle integration for 3D/4D/5D.
  • Conduct regular model reviews and compliance checks.
  • Report monthly on BIM KPIs, compliance metrics, and deliverable status.
• Automation & Technical Enablement:
  • Build and execute an automation roadmap focused on delivery needs.
  • Provide technical production support on 3D and 2D deliverables.
  • Deploy and support AECOM’s content management systems.
  • Support asset information management (AIM) and digital handover.
• Resourcing, Training & Knowledge Sharing:
  • Provide input to project estimates for BIM scope and resource schedules.
  • Contribute to role-based training and certification.
  • Capture lessons learned and recurring EC deficiency patterns.
  • Share best practices, standards, tools, and techniques with the broader BIM team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree + 6 years of relevant experience or an Associate's Degree + 8 years of relevant experience or HS Diploma + 10 years of relevant experience in BIM/digital delivery.
• 2 years of experience directly leading or coordinating multidisciplinary BIM work.

Requirements

• 8+ years in BIM environments, including experience establishing and enforcing standards.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating, overseeing, and performing QA on work produced by offshore teams.
• Strong hands-on Revit skills.
• Deep experience with Forma, Revit, Navisworks, and Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of SharePoint, ProjectWise, and project planning tools desirable.
• Demonstrated capability in automation (Dynamo, Revit API, scripting).
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, NBIMs, NCIS, AIA, BIMForum and ISO 19650.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and training capability.
• Detail-oriented, thorough, and well-organized.
• Interest or experience in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into BIM workflows.
