Role Description

The Senior Application Analyst, Production Enablement, plays a pivotal role in the Product & Technology (P&T) organization, responsible for the full lifecycle management of critical core production applications supporting our Transform, Protect, and Generate business groups. Success in this role means becoming a crucial subject matter expert who combines expertise of RWS’s end-to-end business processes with deep technical knowledge of systems and solutions to enable and optimize our core production operations.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who blends technical skills with strong business acumen. They will work closely with both P&T Product and Production groups to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications. They will also act as a trusted advisor and consultant to production teams, driving a dual strategy of system and process optimization.

• Proactively identifying application enhancements while assisting with the re-engineering of business workflows for maximum value.
• Working closely with software engineering and application support teams on application development and operations.
• Providing third-level expert application support, applying deep platform knowledge to diagnose and resolve complex issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Process Partnership & Optimization
  • Develop and maintain an expert-level understanding of the company's core end-to-end production business processes.
  • Act as a primary advisor and consultant to both P&T Product and Production teams, building strong partnerships to identify challenges and opportunities.
  • Proactively analyze business workflows to recommend process improvements, automation, and best practices that align with application capabilities.
  • Lead workshops and strategic discussions with business stakeholders to map current-state vs. future-state processes.
• Application Implementation & Enhancement
  • Closely partner with application engineering teams on implementation, configuration, and deployment of new applications and major system upgrades.
  • Together with P&T Product, gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into detailed functional and technical specifications for continuous enhancements.
  • Design, configure, and test application workflows, integrations, and custom features to solve complex business problems.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between business stakeholders, development teams, and external vendors.
• Production Support & System Ownership
  • Serve as the highest point of escalation (Tier 3) for complex application incidents and performance issues.
  • Perform advanced root cause analysis (RCA) on production issues, suggesting & implementing permanent fixes to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, system diagrams, and support knowledge bases.
• Technical Leadership & Strategy
  • Serve as the lead subject matter expert (SME) for software development teams, providing critical guidance and advisory on the implementation of application business logic.
  • Mentor and develop junior Application Analysts and Application Specialists, actively building the team's capabilities.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process automation, system optimization, and usability improvements.
  • Evaluate new technologies and application versions, providing strategic recommendations to P&T leadership.
• Collaboration & Communication
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business unit leaders, power users, and P&T colleagues across Product, Engineering, Delivery, and Operations functions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Lead training sessions and create user documentation to ensure effective adoption and use of applications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an Application Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Business Systems Analyst position.
• Demonstrable experience working directly with business teams to analyze and improve processes.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing and supporting enterprise-level applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, SCM).
• Extensive experience providing expert-level production support in a high-availability environment.

Requirements

• Advanced ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable product requirements.
• Strong ability to analyze and interpret large and complex data sets.
• Understanding of Business Process Analysis and Business Process Management principles.
• Familiarity with system integration methodologies and design patterns.
• Familiarity with building and deploying solutions on a low-code automation platform such as Appian is considered a major plus.
• Understanding of ITIL-based processes for Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
