[Hiring] Security Researcher @McAfee, LLC

Role Description

McAfee is looking for an experienced Security Researcher to design and deliver robust, scalable security solutions. The role involves real‑time analysis of cyber threats to provide immediate protection through security products. You will help customers stay safe online while promoting greater cybersecurity awareness. This is a remote position in South Korea, Taiwan, or the Philippines. We will only consider candidates currently in either of these countries and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in security research with hands‑on expertise in Android or iOS, and/or Linux operating systems.
• Proficient in Android or iOS debugging techniques, including identifying malicious code and performing assembly‑level analysis.
• Solid understanding of networking protocols, cloud technologies like AWS, secure engineering practices, and at least one modern programming language.
• Proactive, innovative mindset with strong communication skills to effectively engage and influence diverse audiences.

Requirements

• Investigating threats and vulnerabilities affecting Android and iOS mobile platforms.
• Conducting in‑depth, low‑level analysis of malware, devices, and operating systems.
• Creating research content such as blogs, conference papers, and technical presentations.
• Exploring and developing next‑generation mobile threat protection technologies.
• Collaborating with researchers and engineers to strengthen McAfee’s leading security solutions for customers.
• Expected to debug and reverse‑engineer Java bytecode, Dalvik, and ELF file formats using tools such as IDA Pro, JEB, or similar disassemblers.
