Role Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA MES Liaison / MES Upgrade Assessment Lead to serve as the primary bridge between SAP S/4HANA and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). This role will coordinate ERP-MES testing activities, ensure data alignment, manage issue escalation, and lead MES upgrade assessments and readiness reviews. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with SAP manufacturing processes, MES platforms, and enterprise system integrations.

• Act as the primary liaison between SAP S/4HANA program teams and MES teams for testing, scheduling, and data readiness.
• Coordinate end-to-end business processes across SAP and MES, including production orders, material management, quality, traceability, and batch/serial management.
• Define and support ERP-MES integration requirements using APIs, IDocs, middleware, and event-driven architectures.
• Ensure master data alignment across SAP and MES environments.
• Lead MES upgrade assessments, evaluating system capabilities, integrations, performance, scalability, and readiness.
• Develop upgrade recommendations, roadmaps, risk assessments, and executive-level summaries for MES leadership.
• Manage integrated project plans, risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID).
• Support SIT, end-to-end testing, regression testing, performance testing, and production readiness activities.
• Assist with cutover planning, deployment strategies, fallback plans, and hypercare support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working with SAP (ECC and/or S/4HANA) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Experience leading or supporting MES upgrades, migrations, or major version implementations.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and ERP-MES data flows.
• Experience with SAP integration technologies including IDocs, BAPIs, REST/SOAP APIs, and middleware solutions such as SAP CPI/PO, MuleSoft, Boomi, or Kepware.
• Strong stakeholder management, requirements gathering, and documentation skills.
• Experience with testing coordination, issue management, and production readiness activities.

Requirements

• Experience with MES platforms such as Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre, Körber PAS-X, GE Proficy, DELMIA Apriso, SAP Digital Manufacturing, Critical Manufacturing, or Ignition.
• Knowledge of SAP PP, PP-PI, QM, EWM, PM, Batch Management, and Serial Number Management.
• Understanding of ISA-95 standards and manufacturing integration frameworks.
• Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing deployments and global rollouts.
• Exposure to regulated manufacturing environments and CSV/validation processes.
• SAP or MES-related certifications.

Work Environment

• Remote (EST hours preferred)
• Travel to manufacturing sites may be required during assessments, testing, and go-live activities.
• Occasional off-hours support during cutovers and production events.
