Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Salesforce & Certinia Administrator to own the day-to-day health and growth of our Salesforce org and the Certinia applications that run on it. The ideal candidate will plan, execute and deliver Salesforce and Certinia projects, manage scope against business objectives, and serve as the bridge between our professional services, finance and sales teams. In this role you will support Certinia Professional Services Automation (PSA) and Certinia Accounting, keeping project delivery, time and expense, billing and revenue flowing cleanly from opportunity to invoice.

Responsibilities

• Salesforce administration and project delivery
  • Serve as the primary Salesforce administrator, overseeing system configuration, customization and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives and deliverables.
  • Develop project plans with scope statements, timelines, milestones and resource allocation.
  • Enforce a scope management framework so objectives are met within defined constraints.
  • Assess the impact of proposed enhancements on project scope and provide informed recommendations.
  • Collaborate with developers on advanced customizations, and manage work through a ticketed backlog (e.g., Jira).
  • Provide technical support with timely issue resolution to keep Salesforce operations running.
• Certinia PSA
  • Configure and maintain Certinia PSA: projects, milestones, assignments, resource requests, schedules and rate cards.
  • Support resource management and utilization reporting for the professional services team.
  • Administer timecards and expense reports, including approval routing and submission compliance.
  • Maintain the opportunity-to-project flow so closed-won deals create projects with the right products, rates and budgets.
  • Keep project and product categorization accurate for reporting.
• Certinia Accounting and billing
  • Support billing events, billing documents and invoice generation from PSA actuals.
  • Partner with Finance on revenue recognition, period close and the integration between PSA and Accounting.
  • Troubleshoot data issues across PSA and Accounting (duplicates, missing actuals, mismatched records) and trace them to root cause.
• Platform health and releases
  • Review each Salesforce and Certinia seasonal release, flag relevant features, and test them in sandboxes before rollout.
  • Manage sandboxes, deployments and change control for Salesforce and Certinia configuration.
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards for project, utilization, billing and pipeline KPIs.
  • Work with outside Certinia consulting partners on health checks, enhancements and escalations.
  • Train end users and maintain documentation for Salesforce and Certinia processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Salesforce administration.
• Salesforce Advanced Administrator certification.
• 2+ years administering Certinia (formerly FinancialForce) PSA, Accounting, or both.
• Working knowledge of the professional services lifecycle: opportunity, project, resourcing, time and expense, billing and revenue.
• Proficiency with Flows, validation rules, permission sets, reports and dashboards, and data tools (Data Loader, SOQL).
• Proven experience in project scope management.
• Clear communicator who can explain technical issues to finance, delivery and sales stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certinia certification in PSA and/or Accounting, or willingness to earn one within the first 6–12 months.
• Experience with a Certinia implementation, health check, or major optimization project.
• Background in accounting or finance operations (billing, revenue recognition, period close).
• Experience at a professional services or consulting firm.
• Familiarity with Salesforce DX, change sets, or other deployment tools.
• Experience managing work in Jira or a similar ticketing tool.
• Salesforce Platform App Builder certification.
