[Hiring] Safeguarding in Sport Facilitator @ChildFund Australia

Role Description

The purpose of this Consultancy is to provide Safeguarding in Sport Facilitation services to support ChildFund Rugby's safeguarding partnerships and initiatives.

• Facilitate high-quality, participatory safeguarding learning with rugby organisations and stakeholders.
• Support participants to translate safeguarding frameworks and principles into practical organisational action.
• Facilitate sensitive safeguarding discussions in a safe, respectful and appropriate manner.
• Support implementation planning and follow-up with participating organisations.
• Work within ChildFund Rugby's agreed safeguarding methodology, materials and facilitator boundaries.
• Contribute to safeguarding delivery in English and/or French, according to the Consultant's language capabilities and assigned activities.

Qualifications

• Experience facilitating learning, workshops or group discussions.
• Experience working with participants from different organisational and cultural contexts.
• Experience supporting participatory learning and practical implementation.
• Fluent working ability in English and/or French according to assigned delivery.
• Willingness and availability to complete ChildFund Rugby safeguarding facilitator preparation and training.
• Previous safeguarding, child protection or safe sport experience is highly desirable.
• Experience within rugby or another sport environment is desirable.
• Experience working with National Federations, Unions or sports governance organisations is desirable.
• Experience facilitating virtually is desirable.

Requirements

• Create a respectful and psychologically safe learning environment.
• Avoid requesting unnecessary details of identifiable safeguarding cases during learning activities.
• Never promise complete confidentiality where an actual safeguarding concern is disclosed.
• Follow the appropriate safeguarding reporting procedure where information suggests someone may currently be at risk.
• Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding participant and organisational discussions.
• Not investigate safeguarding concerns.
• Not provide legal, investigative, counselling or specialist advice outside their role or expertise.
• Use agreed escalation processes where technical questions cannot confidently be answered.
• Promptly raise significant safeguarding concerns or uncertainties with the designated ChildFund Rugby safeguarding or technical lead.
• Use relevant agreed safeguarding resources as the primary technical reference point.
