[Hiring] Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst @WVU Medicine

Role Description

This position is the primary contact for information technology issues related to software applications used by Revenue Cycle. Responsibilities include:

• First level support of revenue cycle software and applications, including implementation and testing.
• Creating and managing system build, supporting ongoing computer-based research, system defects, and enhancement requests.
• Generating reports and participating in process improvement initiatives.
• Working independently on large-scale data processing projects, acting as a project leader.
• Performing system and business analysis, developing system designs, and overseeing system development and implementation.
• Monitoring and maintaining daily operations activities of the revenue cycle systems and applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline AND two (2) years’ experience with revenue cycle applications
• OR High school Diploma or Equivalent AND six (6) years’ experience with revenue cycle software applications.
• Proficiency in Epic Resolute or similar module (preferred).
• Two (2) years’ experience in hospital billing and revenue cycle reporting (preferred).

Requirements

• Supports revenue cycle department applications (Epic, Tableau, Clearinghouse, etc.) and maintains an understanding of supported applications.
• Participates in monitoring and correcting system errors as assigned.
• Knowledge of existing and optimal user workflows; uses analytical methods to analyze and revise existing systems and complex workflows.
• Develops, maintains, and manages department-related databases and reports as needed.
• Independently oversees system configurations and design options.
• Prepares test scripts and participates in testing; completes proper documentation of issues and requests.
• Independently imports and exports data.
• Identifies automation opportunities and leads robotic process automation requirements design and testing.
• Acts as the primary contact and conduit to Information Technology, external vendors, and the IT Help Desk.
• Participates in testing of all software upgrades to ensure optimal functionality.
• Completes proper documentation of issues and requests as per policy.
• Participates in the build and assessment of vendor application packages for upgrades and enhancements.
• Leads revenue cycle projects as assigned and escalates issues as needed.
• Troubleshoots and isolates issues with department-specific applications.
• Monitors application performance and makes recommendations for improvement.
• Works with Information Technology to assure accurate and timely processing of data.
• Monitors system performance and metrics to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Documents system specifications, configurations, and user guides.
• Monitors automations that have been configured and released into production.
• Monitors efficiency metrics to ensure optimal process design or identify possible enhancements for optimization.
