Role Description

The Resource Planning Manager leads Tri-State’s resource planning function, overseeing analysis of long‑term system needs, evaluation of generation and demand-side resource options, business strategy analysis for long-term planning, assessment of emerging technologies, and analysis of long-term power contracts and renewable resource opportunities.

• Manage staff and core planning activities
• Contribute to Tri-State’s Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) under WAPA requirements
• Coordinate public processes and participate in regulatory proceedings
• Represent Tri-State in external forums as appropriate
• Direct production cost modeling of Tri-State’s resources to support corporate budgets
• Support short- and long‑range financial forecasts

Qualifications

• Experience in resource planning and analysis
• Strong understanding of power contracts and renewable resources
• Ability to manage staff and coordinate complex projects

Requirements

• Proven experience in energy resource planning
• Knowledge of regulatory processes and public engagement
• Strong analytical and modeling skills
