Role Description

Are you looking for a new role that will help to support school leaders, and our union, as we continue to grow and organise across the South West region? We’re looking for a committed and experienced individual to lead and manage all organising, representation, bargaining and campaigning functions within the South West region.

• Responsible for ensuring that the union's strategic objectives are led and managed through the regional teams.
• Support, develop, and nurture the union's branch and regional lay officials.
• Build, maintain, and enhance relationships with the Regional Executive and branch executives across the regional boundaries.

Qualifications

• Dynamic individual with experience of leading and managing small teams.
• Excellent record of handling a wide range of complex individual and collective casework.
• Demonstrable record of successful conclusions of advocacy including conducting negotiations.
• Proven track record in leading organising and campaigning strategies.
• Understanding of the education systems operating in the UK and relevant employment legislation.
• Strong leadership skills and a proven track record of using initiative to manage complex and difficult situations.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to influence.

Requirements

• Prepared to travel extensively and work long hours when needed.
• Valid driving licence is essential.
• Residence in the region applied for.

• Salary - £69,262 rising to £72,907 plus cash for car allowance and agile working allowance.
