Role Description

This role involves leading the engineering team and fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Participate in development, contributing directly to coding and technical problem-solving.
Ensure product development deadlines are met.
Take responsibility for the development of various core solutions that require an R&D approach, ensuring innovation, technical excellence, and alignment with business objectives.
Create fast prototypes and MVPs.
Create and continuously improve engineering processes, policies, procedures, and best practices in engineering methodologies.
Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of engineering processes and outcomes.
Ensure all stakeholders are informed about changes in timelines or scope.
Participate in the hiring process to staff the team in time and retain exceptional engineering talent.
Advocate on behalf of developers and engineering teams, giving everyone a voice.
Serve as an effective bridge between the engineering team and business/product managers, ensuring clear communication and alignment of priorities.

Qualifications

A track record of building and managing high-performing teams and building/scaling consumer-facing products.
4+ years of R&D management experience/engineering management, with 5+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast-paced tech environment.
Experience acting as an interpreter between technical and business parts.
Good judgment in making tradeoffs to balance short-term business needs with long-term technical quality.
Familiarity with the tools and software used by engineers under their oversight.
Experience acting as the main point of contact for stakeholders (management expectation, conflict/escalation management, risk mitigation, problem-solving).
English B2+.
