Role Description
This role involves optimizing app store listings to improve rankings, conversion rates, and overall app performance.
- Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop and test app metadata (titles, descriptions, tags, etc.) to improve visibility.
- Manage and optimize app screenshots, preview videos, and icons for better user engagement.
- Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to align ASO strategies with overall business goals.
- Monitor app store algorithm updates and industry trends, adjusting strategies accordingly.
- Analyze user behavior, conversion rates, and A/B test results to refine ASO efforts.
- Work with the content and creative teams to craft compelling app descriptions and visuals.
- Track and report key performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in ASO for mobile apps, preferably in subscription-based or edtech apps.
- Strong knowledge of App Store and Google Play algorithms, ranking factors, and best practices.
- Experience with ASO tools (AppTweak, Sensor Tower, App Annie, or similar).
- Ability to analyze performance data and make data-driven recommendations.
- Familiarity with A/B testing strategies and mobile marketing analytics.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles as they apply to ASO.
- Strong copywriting skills for optimizing metadata and descriptions.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and marketers.
Requirements
- Mobile Testing Tools: Xcode, Android Studio - we need both, or Expo simulators/emulators.
- Test Automation Frameworks: Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright - My team would prefer Jest or TS-Jest for unit testing and Maestro for mobile end-to-end testing.
- CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitrise - GitHub Actions preferred.
- Scripting Languages: JavaScript, Python, Bash - JavaScript preferred.
- API testing: Postman, REST Assured - Postman preferred.
