[Hiring] Procurement Category Manager @Hitachi

Role Description

The Procurement Category Manager will be responsible for the strategic sourcing of services for Marketing, Human Resources, Consulting, and Finance categories in the Americas with some projects/categories around the world. This sourcing professional will also have the exposure to work with the global team for global category project execution.

• Accountable for obtaining goods/services required by the organization including:
  • Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.)
  • Direct Operations (e.g., Raw Materials and Services for Manufacturing, Production or Construction; Products for Retail, etc.)
• Procurement processes include:
  • Product/Service Sourcing
  • Supplier Selection
  • Pricing/Terms Negotiation
  • Order Processing
  • Contract Administration
  • Supplier Performance Management
• May include Strategic Sourcing
• A Specialist Professional (P4) is a recognized subject matter expert in job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
• Responsibilities typically include:
  • Managing large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager
  • Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower level professionals
  • Problems faced are difficult and often complex

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in Procurement sourcing and category management
• Understanding of basic procurement law with correlating ability to negotiate/oversee:
  • Master supply agreements
  • Professional services agreements
  • Statements of work
  • Change requests
  • Amendments
• Experience in some of the following Procurement categories: Marketing, Human Resources, Professional Services, and Financial Services
• Demonstrated track record of leading the sourcing process, working with stakeholders across businesses and geographies
• Proven ability to communicate, influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of an organization
• Excellent interpersonal skills and must be a team player
• Excellent negotiations skills with the ability to negotiate large volume, high risk deals independently
• Strong supplier management skills
• Experience working in eSourcing tool environment a plus
• Able to navigate a fast-paced multi-national environment with personnel from all over the many regions and will seek to foster excellent working relationships
• Must be well organized, confident in navigating demands from stakeholders, a natural self-starter with a willingness to learn and embrace new methodologies
• Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree is Preferred
