Role Description

The Procurement Buyer is responsible for transactional support within Procurement, aligned by department verticals (e.g. Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Cardiology, Laboratory, Medical/Surgical, and Support Services). This individual will assist with procurement responsibilities such as:

• Assisting customers with obtaining information
• Reviewing purchase requisitions for pricing and sourcing accuracy
• Ensuring compliance and obtaining best value
• Converting requisitions into purchase orders
• Order placement and expediting

This position aims to provide high quality, efficient, and cost-effective service to the organization with an emphasis on customer service while adhering to legal, ethical, and sound business practices.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (Preferred)
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in hospital procurement
• Experience with supply chain information system, preferably Workday, desired
• Healthcare supply chain experience desired

Requirements

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively in a large, multi-level, geographically dispersed organization
• Proven prioritization and coordination skills, as well as high level of initiative
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Skills – Word, Excel
• Ability to effectively communicate information in writing
• Ability to effectively communicate information verbally and respond to questions from customers
