Role Description

Welo Data is seeking native-level Brazilian Portuguese speakers for Project Hydrus, a conversational AI voice recording project.

• Submit two short audition recordings demonstrating natural conversational speech and customer-service style
• Participate in two supervised recording sessions of approximately 4 hours each
• Record scripted material in a natural, everyday conversational tone
• Record spontaneous speech on assigned topics while maintaining consistent warmth and pace
• Follow live direction from a Session Director during supervised sessions
• Manage your own home recording space and professional audio equipment
• Deliver all recordings entirely in Brazilian Portuguese, without switching to other languages or dialects

Qualifications

• Native or native-equivalent fluency in Portuguese (Brazil)
• Experience as a voice actor, actor, theater performer, or comparable performance background
• Access to a quiet recording space free of echo and background noise
• Professional-grade microphone for auditions, with a qualifying USB condenser or XLR microphone and audio interface for paid sessions if selected
• Closed-back monitoring headphones for supervised recording sessions
• Ability to self-direct auditions and follow live direction
• Basic audio recording skills, including microphone positioning and identifying noise, clipping, and distortion

Requirements

• Professional voice-over experience in dubbing, ADR, audiobooks, or conversational podcasting (Preferred, Not Required)
• An existing acoustically treated home recording studio (Preferred, Not Required)

• Pay: $35/hour
