Role Description

The Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation is currently hiring for a full-time Policy Advocacy Director (National Lead)/Field Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for advocating for and advancing the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation’s (WyFBF) priorities and policies. Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and analyzing federal legislative proposals and federal and state regulatory matters.
• Advocating for member policy.
• Fostering strategic relationships to support Wyoming agriculture.
• Providing expert analysis and developing communications.
• Working closely with the WyFBF Executive Vice President to represent the organization before governmental entities and other stakeholders.
• Collaborating with designated county Farm Bureau Federations to foster effective volunteer leadership.
• Promoting membership acquisition and retention.
• Supporting state and county-level events.

Remote work may be considered for the right candidate, with preference given to those residing in western or north-central Wyoming. Alternatively, the position may be based in person at our home office in Laramie and typically works 40 hours per week between 8 am to 5 pm, Monday-Friday. You can expect a competitive wage between $5,225 - $6,180 per month, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Governmental affairs experience.
• Proficiency in research and policy analysis.
• Ability to analyze complex legislative and regulatory issues and communicate findings clearly.

Requirements

• Experience with lobbying, grassroots organizing, or public advocacy (preferred).
• Knowledge or experience in agriculture (preferred).
• Familiarity with WyFBF policies and procedures (preferred).
• Political awareness and understanding of state and federal governance (preferred).
