[Hiring] Operations Specialist @Sifted

Role Description

The Operations Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of freight and parcel claims across multiple carriers and clients. This position demands a blend of analytical precision, process discipline, and collaborative teamwork — alongside an eagerness to innovate and embrace technology in solving logistics challenges.

• You’ll work closely with operations, customer success, and data teams to resolve shipment loss or damage claims, identify root causes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, formulas, pivot tables, managing large datasets, building dashboards).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactional tasks under time-sensitive deadlines.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated team collaboration skills — able to partner across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Curious and proactive approach to problem-solving; eager to learn and implement new tools and methods.
• Enthusiasm for emerging technologies and AI-driven innovation in logistics operations.
• Strong organizational and multitasking ability with a solutions-focused mindset.
• High school diploma or GED required; postsecondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business preferred.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to embrace AI as a core tool for problem-solving and innovation.

Requirements

• Review and process parcel and freight claims for loss, damage, or delay according to company policies and carrier terms.
• Communicate with carriers, clients, and internal teams to keep claims moving smoothly.
• Check shipping documents (like bills of lading, proof of delivery, and carrier notes) to determine who’s responsible and determine liability and settlement.
• Enter and update claim information accurately in the tracking system, making sure everything is complete and audit-ready.
• Leverage ChatGPT and AI-based tools to assist in claim documentation, report drafting, and root-cause analysis.
• Use Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, dashboards, macros) to monitor claims KPIs such as resolution time, claim frequency, and cost per claim.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify claim trends and share insights that lead to operational improvements and preventative measures.
• Actively participate in team meetings, project discussions, and innovation sessions focused on process automation and continuous improvement.
