Role Description

We are sharing a specialised remote consulting opportunity for experienced U.K.-based molecular biology professionals with hands-on expertise in:

• Nucleic-acid sequence design
• DNA and RNA constructs
• Primers, plasmids, repair templates
• Genetics, biochemistry, synthetic biology, bioengineering, or related life-science research

This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on:

• AI-assisted life-science model training
• Molecular biology task development
• DNA/RNA sequence design review
• Expert-quality ground truth creation
• High-quality project execution

Selected professionals will:

• Translate real-world molecular biology expertise into challenging domain-grounded tasks
• Review AI-generated scientific outputs
• Provide detailed feedback based on research experience, experimental design judgment, publication background, and molecular biology reasoning

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience as a practicing or recently practicing molecular biologist
• Professional experience designing nucleic-acid sequences prior to experiments
• Strong research background in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, synthetic biology, bioengineering, or a related life-science field
• Ability to clearly justify scientific design choices in written form
• Experience creating research documentation, experimental planning materials, design notes, scientific explanations, or structured technical outputs
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify weak reasoning, incomplete assumptions, inaccurate scientific claims, or design-quality issues
• Comfort reviewing AI-generated scientific content and applying detailed evaluation criteria
• Excellent written communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous, project-based environment
• Current U.K. location

Requirements

• Advanced degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, synthetic biology, bioengineering, or a related life-science field is strongly preferred
• PhD-level expertise is especially relevant for this opportunity
• Candidates with equivalent senior research experience, strong publication history, and direct nucleic-acid design expertise may also be considered
• A strong peer-reviewed publication record is highly valued
• Applicants may be asked to include publication links, such as journal publications, preprints, DOI links, or similar research references

• Work may be structured around molecular biology task authoring, sequence design review, ground truth development, AI output evaluation, or task-based assignments
• Competitive rates of $65–$95 per hour depending on molecular biology expertise, publication background, task quality, and project scope
• Screening may include resume or research background review, publication review, domain alignment assessment, and a brief sample task
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or adjusted depending on scope and performance
• Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, vendor, or institution
