Role Description

STC is seeking a Model-Based Mission Engineering Subject Matter Expert to develop innovative, model-centric solutions for complex defense systems and mission environments. In this role, you will help transform legacy mission architecture information into dynamic digital models, enabling data-driven decision-making, rapid integration, secure interoperability, and mission-level analysis across operational domains. • Develop, analyze, and manage mission, operational, system, interface, and cybersecurity requirements throughout their lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain mission engineering architectures and model-based artifacts that connect operational scenarios, mission threads, systems, interfaces, simulations, and data sources.
• Use MBSE tools, SysML, and UAF to create and maintain behavioral, structural, parametric, requirements, and interface models supporting mission engineering analysis and decision-making.
• Support the transition from static, document-centric engineering artifacts to an integrated, model-centric digital engineering environment and authoritative source of truth.
• Model, assess, and support integration of mission systems, sensors, payloads, networks, hardware, software, and simulation environments across complex operational architectures.
• Collaborate with system, mission, cybersecurity, M&S, software, hardware, data, and operational subject-matter experts to define and validate mission engineering solutions.
• Support Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) environments and automated M&S workflows that enable multi-domain mission engineering and joint-force coordination.
• Perform mission and system requirements verification, traceability, model validation, technical reviews, and compliance assessments in support of design reviews, prototype testing, and integration events.
• Identify technical risks, assess the mission impacts of design changes, track performance measures, and provide clear, model-based technical recommendations to program stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10–12 years of relevant experience; or
• Master’s degree with 8–10 years of relevant experience; or
• PhD with 5–7 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience with:
• Dassault Systèmes Cameo Systems Modeler and/or Cameo Enterprise Architect
• SysML
• Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
• Object-Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM)
• MBSE architecture development and requirements traceability
• Mission engineering, system-of-systems engineering, operational architecture development, or enterprise architecture
• Modeling and Simulation, preferably including LVC environments
• Experience supporting DoD, Navy, joint, or other defense mission environments is preferred.
• Must possess and maintain an active Secret security clearance.

Requirements

• Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment in defining technical objectives and approaches.
• Expert-level capability with system and enterprise modeling tools and experience developing behavioral, structural, parametric, requirements, and interface models.
• Strong understanding of mission engineering principles, operational analysis, systems-of-systems integration, and digital engineering practices.
• Proactive individual who can rapidly learn new technologies and collaborate effectively with domain SMEs, engineers, program managers, customers, and government stakeholders.
• Inquisitive, analytical, and motivated engineer with strong systems engineering and SysML and UAF modeling skills.
• Effective communicator who can translate complex technical, operational, and modeling concepts into clear products for technical and non-technical audiences.

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, Arcfield invests in its employees beyond just compensation.
