Role Description
This role involves implementing, maintaining, and supporting new manufacturing processes in our production environment, focusing on advanced RF, optical, and microelectronic components, modules, and sub-systems.
- Implement processes related to the assembly of optical and microelectronic modules, such as SMT, flip chip assembly, epoxy dispensing, high accuracy die-bonding, wire-bonding, opto-electronic sub-assemblies (active and passive)
- Program and maintain high-end automated assembly equipment (dispensers, die-bonders, wire-bonders, optical-aligners, etc.)
- Support production activities on manufacturing processes
- Participate in equipment commissioning by doing Site Acceptance Tests and First Article inspections
- Contribute to research and development of new technologies by assessing design and processes for manufacturing
- Participate in New Product Introduction by building preliminary concepts and prototypes
- Monitor and deploy Statistical Process Controls
- Write manufacturing procedures
- Provide training to operators
- Maintain and troubleshoot assembly equipment
Qualifications
- Diploma of college studies in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years' experience in microelectronic manufacturing
- Knowledge of optoelectronic technologies - an asset
- Knowledge with SolidWorks
- Experience in programming high-end automated assembly equipment (dispensers, die bonders, wire-bonders, optical aligners, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in handling bare dies or miniature components using tweezers, microscopes, camera systems, etc.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and change priorities
- Ability to synthesize data and communicate results efficiently
