[Hiring] Merchandising Assistant @Over The Moon

Role Description

Over The Moon is looking for a Merchandising Assistant dedicated to our Home, Tabletop and Children's categories. The ideal candidate is passionate about beautifully curated assortments and editorials, interested in becoming a buyer, and excited to learn and help grow our home and children's brand portfolio to drive sales, registry adds and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Brand Onboarding & Maintenance
  • Play a key role launching new brands on-site via hands-on support during the onboarding process.
  • Upload new products and seasonal collections to Shopify and our marketplace, ensuring images, copy and tags align with brand guidelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date assortment information, including pricing updates, SKU changes, variants (patterns, sizes, sets) and archiving discontinued products.
  • Monitor brand and product performance (sales, sell-through, return rates), market conditions and brand feedback for the three categories.
  • Research and present new Home, Tabletop and Children's brands that align with Over The Moon's aesthetic, values and customer preferences.
• Launch Calendar
  • Assist with launch calendar setup, oversight and brand launch checklists for Home, Tabletop and Children's.
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing and Editorial to ensure brands and seasonal drops go live as planned.
• Merchandising
  • Support Merchandiser to curate the Home, Tabletop and Children's category pages and keep them fresh and consistent with launches.
  • Support merchandising of Best of Registry, baby registry, holiday and seasonal edits (e.g. Tabletop Holiday and Summer).
  • Partner with the Registry team to flag top-performing brands and products for couples, parents-to-be and gift-givers.
• Category Support
  • Support the Tabletop/Home and Children's leads with vendor communication, purchase order tracking and dropship compliance follow-ups.
  • Assist with pop-ups, campaign shoots and style-outs for the three categories.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in merchandising, buying or e-commerce retail; exposure to home, tabletop or children's categories a plus.
• Familiarity with Shopify or other e-commerce and marketplace platforms a plus.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and design.
• Passion for lifestyle and luxury products, with a natural ability to identify trends and customer preferences.
• Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
• Self-starter who is collaborative and can work independently as well as with a team.
• Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Excel/Sheets, including VLOOKUPs).
• Experience with Canva and Photoshop a plus.
