Role Description
The Medical Billing Specialist will perform daily RCM activities and work with the Controller to enhance and further build out our insurance reimbursement processes. This position will play a critical role in securing the financial stability of FOLX Health and delivering excellent customer service to our patients.
- Responsible for all charges submitted by providers, ensuring accurate coding and timely collections
- Triage and correct claim denials by working daily Athena worklists for claim and coding corrections
- Monitor and correct eligibility errors
- Track insurance payments and ensure payment posting is completed correctly and timely
- Invoice patients to collect self pay balances
- Post patient payments and reconcile patient accounts
- Research and resolve patient communications and balance issues
- Manage payer portal access and profiles
- Work with credentialing team to update Athena payer and provider enrollments
- Support Controller in process improvement and overall reporting activities
Qualifications
- 2+ years of billing experience
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Sense of urgency: ideally you have startup or fast paced work environment experience
- Experience with Athena preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) preferred, CPB (Certified Professional Biller) preferred
