Role Description

Seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee mechanical systems installation, maintenance, and operations. Must possess strong technical knowledge, regulatory compliance expertise, and proven ability to manage field operations while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Field Supervision - Direct and supervise mechanical crews, contractors, and technicians on-site for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems.
• Design Review & Understanding - Interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and engineering plans to ensure proper installation and compliance with design intent.
• Quality Inspections - Conduct comprehensive on-site inspections of mechanical work including systems testing, commissioning, and performance verification.
• Regulatory Compliance - Ensure all work meets local building codes, mechanical codes, fire codes, and environmental regulations.
• Permit Coordination - Interface with local authorities, building departments, and inspection agencies for permit approvals and regulatory inspections.
• Progress Reporting - Prepare detailed progress reports, inspection reports, and status updates for project management and clients.
• Safety Management - Implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct safety meetings, and ensure OSHA compliance on mechanical work areas.
• Problem Resolution - Identify and resolve mechanical system issues, design conflicts, and installation challenges in real-time.
• Subcontractor Management - Coordinate and oversee mechanical subcontractors, ensuring work quality and schedule adherence.
• Documentation - Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, warranties, and as-built conditions.
• Commissioning Support - Participate in system startup, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Client Interface - Communicate with building owners, facility managers, and end users regarding mechanical systems operation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years mechanical supervision experience in commercial, industrial (Manufacturing/Clean Lab), or institutional projects (DC is a plus point).
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems design and installation/commissioning experience is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of local mechanical codes, building codes, and inspection requirements.
• Proven ability to prepare clear, detailed reports for various stakeholders.
• Experience conducting field inspections and quality control activities.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise teams and manage multiple mechanical contractors.

Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent technical education.
• Associate Engineer License (at minimum).
• Professional licenses (PE, contractor's license) bonus.
• Experience with BIM/3D modeling coordination.
