Role Description

The Mail Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 transcribes prescription information sent directly to Mail Order. This role performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments, typically working on semi-routine assignments.

The Item Entry Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in supporting pharmacy operations by ensuring the accurate and timely entry of medication and supply items into the pharmacy management systems. Key responsibilities include:

• Enter prescription and inventory information into pharmacy systems, ensuring completeness and compliance with established protocols.
• Verify medication details, including drug name, strength, dosage form, and quantity, against source documents.
• Assist pharmacists in maintaining updated inventory records and resolving discrepancies.
• Review and process incoming orders, ensuring proper documentation and labeling.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and prescription information following HIPAA and company policies.
• Support quality assurance initiatives by identifying and reporting errors or inconsistencies in item entry.
• Collaborate with pharmacy team members to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional customer service.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with pharmacy practices and technology.

Qualifications

• Must have an active license with the Board of Pharmacy in the appropriate state.
• National Certification or PTCB CphT.
• Less than 3 years of related experience.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences.

• Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
