[Hiring] MAGIC Inspection Trainee @Integrity Assessment Group

Role Description

As a MAGIC Inspection Trainee, you will learn to safely perform specialized generator inspection work in power plant environments using all variations of the MAGIC robotic inspection system. Inspectors are always representative of the company, especially when on customer job sites and interacting with vendors.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist with limited access inspections of gas and steam turbine generators under the direction and supervision of qualified inspection personnel.
• Review and follow written procedures, safety requirements, national codes, and customer specifications while developing proficiency with MAGIC robotic inspection systems.
• Assist with setup, operation, breakdown, cleaning, and proper care of inspection equipment, tools, and related accessories.
• Support the acquisition, organization, and preliminary processing of inspection data as directed by qualified personnel.
• Document observations accurately and promptly and assist with inspection report preparation, data entry, timecard submittals, expense reconciliations, and other assigned administrative tasks.
• Communicate clearly with crew members, supervisors, and customer representatives when directed, including reporting safety concerns, equipment issues, or changes observed during work activities.
• Participate in on-the-job training to build technical inspection skills, equipment knowledge, safe work practices, and understanding of company policies and customer site requirements.
• Actively participate in JSA and use all necessary steps to complete tasks safely and ensure the safety of others working in the area.
• Communicate with all levels of management and crew to effectively present any needs and changes.
• All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Ability to adhere to a written method or procedure.
• Confidence to STOP work immediately when a problem is identified.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, preferred.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products, preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in NDT field, preferred.
• Six months+ experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Current Driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.

Environmental/Working Conditions

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must have excellent depth perception, hearing, and manual dexterity to operate all machines safely.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in extreme temperatures and weather.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Other Considerations/Requirements

• Willingness and ability to travel domestically, often on short notice, and for extended periods of time.
• Must meet minimum company requirements to operate a company vehicle and be eligible for coverage under Company insurance program.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position is based out of the USA remotely to support work in the USA, or abroad. This person must be a US citizen, or legal resident of USA, that can travel in and out of the USA to participate in training and work globally.
• Must feel comfortable working in confined spaces, from ladders and working from heights (scaffolds, personal fall arrest systems (PFAS)).
• Overnight and extended work assignments vary by project and work location.
• Must participate in a rotating "on-call" schedule for weekends and holidays.
• Travel may be required up to 70% of the year.
