[Hiring] Long Term Disability Claims Advisor @Lincoln Financial

Role Description

We’re looking for a driven and compassionate experienced Long-Term Disability (LTD) Claims Examiners to join our growing team in a 100% remote environment. In this role, you’ll make a meaningful impact—helping individuals navigate some of life’s most challenging moments while delivering fair, timely, and thoughtful claim decisions.

• Independently manage a caseload of Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims from intake through resolution.
• Partner with claimants, employers, and medical professionals via phone and email to gather and assess information related to disability status and applicable state and federal benefits.
• Conduct initial and ongoing interviews with claimants to gather key information for claim evaluation.
• Review medical documentation and partner with clinical and vocational experts to support informed decisions.
• Deliver timely and ethical claim determinations, ensuring consistency with company guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with case managers, nurse case managers, vocational specialists, and consulting physicians.
• Review complex medical records and leverage a variety of tools and resources to determine appropriate claim durations.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by proactively identifying needs and opportunities.

Qualifications

• 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's).
• 1+ Years of long-term disability claims experience directly aligned with the specific responsibilities for this role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to multi-task.

Requirements

• Experience mentoring or coaching newer examiners (preferred).
• Continuous improvement mindset (process optimization, efficiency, quality) (preferred).
• Exposure to predictive analytics / AI tools (preferred).
