Role Description

The Shipwide Sound & Light Technician is an integral part of the Cruise Department, focused on delivering a vibrant and "Remarkably Arabian" experience. This role involves supporting the Entertainment Technical Manager and Cruise Director in the delivery of the Entertainment product to our Guests inside the ship by being responsible for the use/operation, movement, and storage of all audio-visual equipment as delegated/assigned by the Technical Entertainment Manager for performances by entertainers, as well as all programmed activities by the entertainment staff.

The Shipwide Sound & Light Technician must be able to act as an audio-visual troubleshooter to help solve any equipment or staging problems as delegated by the Entertainment Technical Manager and must be able to adjust to changes in schedules, assignments, and deadlines while maintaining a collaborative and positive team environment.

Requirements

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of standard theatre operations including Audio and Lighting operations.
• Ability to set, strike, operate, or otherwise work with relative Audio-Visual (AV) equipment as instructed.
• Experience in setting up venues for lectures or other activities.
• Ability to design or implement lighting, sound, and stage effects for Featured Entertainers/Musicians as assigned.
• Ability to provide quality service and enhance the experience for guests onboard.
• Responsible for performing Safety, Environmental, and Emergency Response duties as assigned.
• Reports any equipment in need of repair or replacement to the Entertainment Technical Manager.
• Conducts monthly inventory counts and daily checks on inventory.
• Effectively practices proper time management to prepare, execute, and break down setups and venues for assigned activities and events.
• Supports guest flow and general assistance of the Hotel Department during embarkation/disembarkation.
• Carries out any other duty which may be reasonably requested by the Entertainment Technical Manager or Cruise Director.
