Role Description

A growing organization within the insurance and claims industry is seeking an experienced Liability Claims Manager to lead the operations, performance, and strategic direction of a designated claims unit. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing complex liability claim operations.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in liability claims administration, proven leadership experience, and the ability to balance client service, operational efficiency, and employee development.

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of a liability claims team.
• Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for claims professionals.
• Ensure adherence to established claims handling best practices, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
• Develop and implement workflows, procedures, and process improvements that enhance quality, consistency, and efficiency.
• Monitor staffing needs, workforce planning, retention efforts, and team productivity metrics.
• Review and provide guidance on complex, high-exposure, and authority-level claims.
• Partner with senior leadership to support departmental goals, strategic initiatives, and business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Foster a collaborative, professional, and service-oriented culture.
• Travel occasionally for meetings, training, and business-related events.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of liability claims administration, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution.
• Strong understanding of jurisdictional regulations, statutes, and claims compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop talent, and achieve operational results.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with claims management systems and standard business software applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of liability claims experience, including complex claim oversight.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of supervisory or management experience leading claims teams.
• Proven track record of advancement and success within liability claims operations.
