Role Description

As a Krahn Phone Interpreter, you will handle calls on demand, rendering the meaning of conversations between Krahn and English speakers. The role involves:

• Breaking communication barriers across various industries including Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Financial, Utilities, Travel & Hospitality, General Business, Law Enforcement, Court, and 911.
• Processing information quickly and recognizing sensitive cultural differences.
• Maintaining professionalism and courtesy at all times.
• Interpreting both simple and complex subjects verbally.
• Ensuring a quiet and secure environment while working remotely.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Krahn and English, with an understanding of associated cultural dynamics.
• Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to remain neutral and objective, especially during sensitive conversations.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write the requested languages is highly preferred.

Requirements

• Dedicated personal device for business purposes (Desktop/Laptop/Tablet/Smartphone).
• High-speed internet connection with specific speed requirements.
• Access to a quiet space free from background noise or distraction.
• Must be able to operate a keyboard and mouse and remain stationary for most of the workday.
• Able to lift up to 26 lbs.
