[Hiring] Italian Linguistic Auditor - Specialist @Mercor

Role Description

The Sonic Audit Specialist - Italian will be responsible for evaluating AI training data in Italian by auditing transcription accuracy and forced alignment.

• Review and judge transcriptions for accuracy using a fixed set of error codes.
• Provide a pass or fail verdict with a rationale.
• Verify and correct audio segment timestamps for word-level alignment.
• Adjust segments as needed for accuracy.
• Apply consistent standards across judgments, ensuring careful listening and detailed feedback.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• Native or near-native command of Italian as spoken in Italy.
• Strong English reading and writing skills.
• Experience in transcription, subtitling, localization, linguistic annotation, or QA.
• Ability to apply a disciplined rubric consistently.
• Preferred:
• Prior AI data annotation or model evaluation experience.
• Background in phonetics or linguistics.
• Experience with audio editing or waveform tools.
