Role Description

The Inventory Purchaser is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the organization’s inventory levels, ensuring accurate records of goods, and supporting the overall efficiency of the supply chain. This role involves:

  • Purchasing, receiving, counting, and organizing stock
  • Ensuring data accuracy within the inventory management system
  • Preventing stock discrepancies
  • Maintaining adequate stock levels to meet production and sales demands
  • Assisting with the purchase of goods and services required by the organization
  • Processing purchase orders, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with vendors for timely delivery

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or certification in inventory management or a related field is beneficial
  • Previous experience in inventory control, purchasing, warehouse management, or stockroom operations is preferred
  • Proficiency in Sonar or other ERP software and basic Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to perform accurate inventory counts and maintain error-free records
  • Strong ability to organize stock and work areas efficiently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for coordination with different departments and suppliers

Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for long periods
  • Must follow all safety guidelines and operate warehouse machinery, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, if required
