Role Description

The International Consultant on Climate, Peace and Security (CPS) and Data Communication will undertake the following tasks:

  • Analyze local data sources in Asia-Pacific region, and synthesize findings into structured evidence sets suitable for innovative use in interactive communications and policy-facing knowledge products.
  • Support the assessment of programme needs related to CPS-WPS communications in the Asia-Pacific region, including identifying relevant data sources, thematic priorities, and political and cultural sensitivities that should inform product design.
  • Assist in the preparation of web-based interactive products, and data visualization formats, that translate CPS-WPS evidence into accessible narratives.

  • Support the organization and facilitation of virtual design workshops with women peacebuilders, civil society organizations, and UN Women stakeholders from across the region, and assist in the preparation of synthesis notes and summary briefs from those processes for UN Women's review and approval.
  • Assist in the application of do-no-harm and anonymization protocols to ensure that community-level data, individual testimonials, and locally-sourced evidence are handled responsibly throughout the product development process.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in the CPS-WPS field in the Asia-Pacific region, and provide analytical support that integrates this knowledge into knowledge product design, policy briefings, and advocacy materials.
  • Collaborate with UN Women country-desk colleagues across the Asia-Pacific region to gather contextual inputs, validate content for cultural and political accuracy, and ensure that knowledge products reflect regional realities rather than external framings.

  • Prepare briefing notes, background papers, data summaries, story cards, and other materials required for knowledge products, policy dialogues, and regional convenings related to CPS and WPS in Asia and the Pacific.
  • Assist in monitoring and documenting the uptake and use of CPS-WPS knowledge products following their distribution, contributing to institutional learning and evaluation processes.
  • Perform other duties as required.
