Role Description

The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization. We have an exciting opportunity for an intern on our Development Team. As an intern supporting our Heart Ball, Go Red for Women, and other community events, you will play a key role in driving the success of these impactful campaigns. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the planning, coordinating, and executing pre-event logistics, and on-site event management for multiple community events.
• Conducting pre-event outreach to attendees of events to support participation.
• Assisting with sponsor presentation preparation and gathering materials for sponsor follow-up after meetings.
• Assisting with pulling reports, data entry, and organizing event-related information to track progress and outcomes.
• Assisting with administrative tasks such as preparing printed materials, assembling thank-you cards, and organizing event supplies.
• Supporting the planning and execution of Hands-Only CPR demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, communications, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, or event management.
• Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
• Demonstrated excellence in written communication skills.
• Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with working professionally with all levels of community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
• Effective oral and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Basic knowledge of Canva.
• Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi Connection and reliable transportation.
• Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future.

Requirements

• Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week
• Internship Duration: 1/25/27 – 5/7/27
• Location: Remote within the Corpus Christi, TX area
• Salary: $23.00 per hour
