Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the development, evaluation, and improvement of AI models used across insurance processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with AI, data science, and product teams to ensure AI systems are accurate, compliant, and aligned with industry standards and business objectives.

• Evaluate AI models used in underwriting, claims processing, risk assessment, and pricing.
• Identify model gaps, biases, and opportunities for improvement using insurance domain expertise.
• Validate AI outputs against insurance practices, regulatory requirements, and customer experience standards.
• Define key performance metrics and success criteria for AI models.
• Support data labeling and annotation with insurance-specific knowledge.
• Contribute to explainable AI initiatives to improve model transparency and trust.
• Stay current with insurance regulations, compliance standards, and AI trends in the insurance industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Business, or a related field.
• 7+ years of insurance industry experience in areas such as underwriting, claims, risk modeling, or product management.
• Strong understanding of insurance operations, policy structures, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Must be available to work 35–40 hours per week during regular PST business hours.
