Role Description
Miaplaza is currently looking for 4-5 Curriculum Developer Interns to join us over the summer. The Curriculum Developer Internship Program is a unique opportunity designed to provide you with essential business insights and hands-on experience while contributing to Miaplaza’s innovative approach to education. You can expect to devote about 80% of your time to role specific projects. The other 20% of your time will be spent on job specific training, professional development, and personalized coaching and feedback sessions.
- You will learn to develop and support the development of a variety of learning materials for a K-12 student audience, including:
- Asynchronous instructional activities
- Multiple-choice assessment items
- Educational video scripts or supplemental help videos
- Perform quality assurance checks on soon-to-be released curriculum materials
- Assist in the creation and implementation of customer seminars
- Assist in the development of a standards-based curriculum organizational system
- Participate in various synchronous and asynchronous professional development and training activities
Schedule
- The 2025 Curriculum Developer Internship program is an 8-week commitment from June 9, 2025 through August 1, 2025.
- We offer both full-time and part-time internship opportunities.
- Full-time interns are expected to have 30-40 hours of availability each week.
- Part-time interns are expected to work 15-20 hours per week.
- You will be expected to attend 2-5 virtual meetings per week that will take place during normal business hours.
What you’ll learn
- Comprehensive understanding of the Curriculum Developer role and its responsibilities at Miaplaza
- Ability to develop strong learning objectives and design instructional materials aligned to those objectives
- Ability to apply K-12 distance education best practices to create asynchronous instructional materials that are clear, accessible, inclusive, and engaging
- Proficiency in Miaplaza’s company-wide processes and workflows for effective curriculum creation
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or a related field
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing an Advanced Degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
- Knowledge of the structure of an effective lesson
- Ability to differentiate instruction to make learning accessible, engaging, and age-appropriate
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially written
- Proficiency in using Google Suite
- Excellent attention to detail
- Growth mindset and motivated by constructive feedback
- Proven ability to work independently, manage schedule, and meet deadlines
- High standards of integrity and transparency
- Access to a computer/laptop (with camera) and reliable high-speed internet connection
Compensation & Benefits
- The expected starting pay range is $26 to $28/hour.
