Role Description

The Industry 4.0 Solution Engineer – Production Analytics is a delivery-focused, client-facing technical role responsible for building and proving the data products that operations leaders act on every shift. The incumbent owns the onshore build and verification of the Digital Production Control Center (DPCC) and its supporting Power BI product family, working within the reference architecture established by the Senior RTLS Engineer and the Senior Technical Fellow – Industry 4.0.

• Translates KINEXON UWB Real-Time Location System (RTLS) event streams, VersaCall Digital Andon events, and Infor CloudSuite Automotive (CSA) ERP data into a governed Microsoft Fabric / OneLake medallion data estate.
• Ensures correctness by authoring precise, testable build specifications for offshore development partners and validating reported production metrics against observed reality on the assembly line.
• Works directly with Blue Bird operations, materials, quality, and IT stakeholders.
• Contributes reusable build patterns for subsequent line rollouts and future phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative or technical discipline; equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Five (5) or more years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, enterprise systems, or business analysis.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience building operational and executive dashboards in Power BI or comparable platforms.
• Strong SQL capability and hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and warehouses.
• Demonstrated ERP experience including integration, master data, and the full data migration and validation lifecycle.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language for data work and automation.
• Demonstrated ability to author precise, testable technical specifications.
• Proven requirements elicitation and process analysis capability.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing operations concepts.
• Ability to present technical material and deliver live system demonstrations to client stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to fifty percent (50%).
• US person status required due to potential assignment to Department of Defense engagements.

Requirements

• Experience specifying for, directing, or formally accepting the work of offshore or geographically distributed development teams.
• Specific Microsoft Fabric experience.
• Experience working with event-stream or time-series data.
• Exposure to Real-Time Location Systems or RFID technologies.
• Familiarity with the RAMI 4.0 reference architecture and the Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture.
• Experience with digital Andon or production call systems.
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement grounding.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate.
• Prior experience in automotive, bus and truck, heavy equipment, aerospace and defense, or material handling manufacturing environments.
• Prior consulting or professional services experience.
• Familiarity with operational technology and industrial cybersecurity concepts.
