[Hiring] Head of UK Programmes @Human Appeal

Role Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of UK Programmes position within the Fundraising department. The Head of UK Programmes will be responsible for heading UK Programmes across the UK, including:

• Building and maintaining a strong network of key stakeholders and partners.
• Fundraising, implementing, planning, and efficient project management.
• Designing and implementing Human Appeal UK programme strategy and projects.
• Ensuring design proposals and concept notes meet programme aims and objectives.
• Gaining feedback on UK projects to provide updates and progress reports to donors and key stakeholders.
• Developing and maintaining relations with a wide range of institutional partners under the donors framework.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Human Appeal UK programming strategy and funding handbook through consultation with key internal stakeholders and local government.
• Work with other members of the Programmes Department and other Human Appeal departments through regular meetings.
• Ensure completion of UK strategic priorities as dictated by the overall department/organisational strategy.
• Lead organisational networking requirements across the UK with identified stakeholders by attending key events and conferences.
• Raise the profile of Human Appeal in the UK charity sector through networking and representation on appropriate platforms.
• Prepare annual business plan for UK-based programme and set an annual target for the programme.
• Prepare donors framework by identifying potential sources of funding and cooperation for UK programming.
• Research funding opportunities from local trusts, foundations, and institutional donors.
• Lead and support fundraising activities/campaigns related to UK-based programme projects.
• Conduct regular monitoring for UK-based projects through field visits.
• Responsible for partner selection in the UK by providing profiles for each partner.
• Manage financial aspects of implemented projects in the UK.
• Implement partners' performance and delivery of capacity building as required.
• Work closely with Fundraising Department to support the establishment of UK surge capacity roster.
• Lead on the establishment of overall campaign strategies through clear advocacy and influencing drivers.
• Work closely in coalition with a wide range of UK, EU-based, and global organisations.
• Monitor trends and developments in relevant policy areas and influence their direction.

Qualifications

• Graduate, ideally in a related field such as Social Sciences.
• Minimum 6 years of experience working in a related field within the Charity Sector.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Fluency in English.

Requirements

• Additional language skills e.g. Spanish, French, Arabic, Urdu (desirable).
