Role Description

The Monad Foundation is looking for a Head of Security. You will lead efforts to protect Foundation assets and to improve the security posture of the Monad ecosystem. The ideal candidate has significant experience in web3 and web2 security.

Build a world-class security culture and strategy to secure Monad Foundation systems, assets, and employees.
Elevate security awareness across the Monad ecosystem through ecosystem-wide tooling and initiatives, as well as by suggesting features or improvements.
Enable the Monad Foundation to respond nimbly to threats by improving threat detection capabilities and incident response playbooks.
Oversee the work of external audit teams and external vendors.
Conduct internal security assessments, audits, and vulnerability testing to identify potential security risks and mitigate them.
Continuously monitor and research breaking vulnerabilities in both web3 and web2.
Advocate internally and externally for security best practices as well as develop and implement organizational security policies.

Qualifications

Expert in the cyber threat landscape with a deep understanding of nation-state, criminal, hacktivist, and insider threats.
Deep knowledge of malware evolution, threat indicators, and adversary TTPs.
Strong knowledge of social engineering, network, application, cloud, and other web2 security attack vectors.
Obsessed with web3 security and deeply motivated to improve the space.
Strong opinions about best practices for securing decentralized systems with billions of dollars at stake.
Excellent knowledge about the EVM and how web3 apps are built.
Excellent knowledge of how prior crypto hacks have occurred and a mental model of the most common vulnerabilities.
Bias for action while being methodical and rigorous.
