[Hiring] Head of Patient Experience and Strategy @argenx

YDay - argenx is hiring a remote Head of Patient Experience and Strategy. πŸ’Έ Salary: usd 228,000 - 313,500 per year πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

Join us as we transform immunology and deliver medicines that help autoimmune patients get their lives back. The Head of Patient Experience is responsible for shaping how patient perspectives influence decisions across argenx and for building patient experience into a defining strength of how we operate as a company.

This leader will build and lead STEP (Strategy Team for the Experience of the Patient), a global cross-functional community that brings together colleagues across various departments to advance a more connected, intentional, and impactful experience for patients.

This is a builder role. The foundations have been established through STEP. The next chapter is to create the vision, strategy, capabilities, and ways of working that will help argenx remain deeply connected to patients as we continue to grow.

Success will require bringing people together around shared priorities, translating insight into action, and creating approaches that can scale across teams, geographies, and stages of the lifecycle.

Rather than owning all patient-facing activities, the Head of Patient Experience serves as a connector, catalyst, and strategic thought partner, ensuring patient perspectives become a trusted and consistent input into the decisions that matter most.

As part of Corporate Affairs, this leader will also partner with colleagues across the company to strengthen how argenx listens, learns, and responds to the communities we serve.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the Global Patient Experience Community
    • Lead and evolve STEP, building a capability that brings structure to patient experience across argenx and helps translate patient insight into meaningful action.
    • Bring together expertise from across functions, geographies, and stages of the lifecycle to align around shared priorities and drive meaningful action.
    • Create the governance, focus, and ways of working needed for STEP to translate ideas into impact.
    • Help define where STEP can uniquely connect, catalyze, and deliver, while enabling teams closest to patients to lead execution.
  • Shape the Future of Patient Experience at argenx
    • Define and champion a vision for patient experience that positions patients as partners in innovation, decision-making, and impact.
    • Build the strategies, capabilities, and approaches that help patient perspectives consistently shape how argenx operates and grows.
    • Identify the opportunities where patient insight can most meaningfully influence decisions, experiences, and outcomes across the lifecycle.
    • Connect insights across teams and geographies, ensuring they are translated into action and meaningful change.
    • Partner with Corporate Affairs leaders to help shape a broader view of stakeholder experience and how argenx shows up to the communities we serve.
  • Elevate Patient Insight and Influence
    • Build a consistent approach to capturing, synthesizing, and activating patient insights across argenx.
    • Ensure patient perspectives are integrated into key decisions across development, clinical operations, commercial strategy, and corporate affairs.
    • Create forums, tools, and mechanisms that make patient insight accessible, actionable, and connected to decision-making.
    • Define how patient influence and impact are measured across the organization.
  • Advance Trusted Patient Partnerships
    • Shape a global approach to patient engagement grounded in trust, transparency, and long-term partnership.
    • Build relationships with patient leaders, advocacy organizations, and rare disease communities around the world.
    • Identify opportunities to work alongside patients and communities to advance shared goals and improve outcomes.
    • Partner with Policy and Government Relations on initiatives where patient voices can help shape broader system change.
  • Accelerate Patient-Centered Development
    • Partner with development and clinical operations leaders to strengthen how patient perspectives inform study design, recruitment, and trial experience.
    • Help identify scalable approaches that improve enrollment and reduce barriers to participation.
    • Bring together cross-functional teams around priority opportunities where patient experience can accelerate development outcomes.
  • Shape How argenx Shows Up for Patients
    • Partner across Corporate Affairs to ensure patient perspectives inform how argenx communicates, engages, and builds trust.
    • Bring authentic patient insights and experiences into company narratives, stakeholder engagement, and reputation-building efforts.
    • Help ensure the argenx Way is reflected in how we partner with and show up for patients around the world.
  • Measure and Demonstrate Impact
    • Establish meaningful measures that demonstrate the impact of patient experience on decisions, outcomes, and ways of working.
    • Build accountability for patient-centered outcomes across STEP priorities and initiatives.
    • Help create a culture where success is measured not only by engagement, but by the difference patient perspectives make in how argenx operates.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in patient experience, patient engagement, patient advocacy, healthcare strategy, medical affairs, clinical development, corporate affairs, or related disciplines.
  • Deep understanding of the biotech industry and the patient journey, ideally with experience in rare disease or other complex healthcare environments.
  • Demonstrated success defining and leading global patient experience or patient engagement strategies across functions, geographies, and stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to translate patient perspectives and insights into meaningful business, development, clinical, commercial, and organizational decisions.
  • Experience building and leading cross-functional communities, governance models, or enterprise-wide capabilities that turn strategy into measurable action.
  • Established credibility and experience partnering with patient leaders, advocacy organizations, and patient communities to build trusted, transparent, and long-term relationships.
  • Strong understanding of patient-centered drug development, including opportunities to influence study design, recruitment, enrollment, and the clinical trial experience.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and serving as a strategic advisor on patient experience, stakeholder engagement, and organizational priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across teams without direct authority, align diverse stakeholders, and create momentum around shared priorities.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, relationship-building, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global, and evolving environment with a builder mindset, strong judgment, and bias for action.

  • Annual base salary hiring range for this position is $228,000.00 - $313,500.00 USD.
  • Individual compensation is determined using objective, inclusive, and job-related criteria such as relevant experience, skills, demonstrated competencies, and internal equity.
