Role Description

The Head of North America LBM (Lumber and Building Materials) Solutions is a strategic leadership role designed to serve as the authoritative bridge between the North American LBM market and GenetiQ’s internal delivery, product, and development teams. This role is tasked with:

  • Accelerating customer outcomes
  • De-risking implementations
  • Ensuring GenetiQ operates as a deeply embedded industry partner

The role acts as the "voice of the market" throughout the entire customer lifecycle, from onboarding and solution design to product evolution.

Primary objectives include:

  • Market Alignment: Ensuring implementations reflect the operational and competitive realities of the North American LBM industry.
  • Operational Integration: Acting as a bridge between USA market demands and internal GenetiQ teams.
  • Industry Partnership: Moving GenetiQ beyond the "vendor" label to anticipate customer needs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Industry Leadership and Market Intelligence:
    • Maintain awareness of USA LBM trends and expectations.
    • Monitor the competitive ERP landscape.
    • Engage with industry influence networks and buying groups.
  • Product Influence and Functional Leadership:
    • Translate LBM operational knowledge into functional requirements.
    • Challenge software designs that create operational friction.
    • Validate proposed solutions align with real-world workflows.
  • Project Acceleration and Delivery Enablement:
    • Act as a strategic escalation point for USA projects.
    • Standardize delivery by helping customers adopt proven industry processes.
    • Reduce ambiguity in the discovery phase.
  • Customer and Executive Engagement:
    • Serve as a trusted advisor during workshops and strategic planning.
    • Represent the interests of GenetiQ’s most strategically important customers.
  • Internal Enablement:
    • Educate developers, consultants, and project managers on USA LBM practices.
    • Develop reusable industry templates and recommended solution patterns.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years within the USA LBM industry.
  • Experience working both inside an LBM merchant/distributor and within an ERP software vendor ecosystem.
  • Mastery of purchasing, inventory, pricing, dispatch, sales, estimating, rebates, EDI, and multi-branch distribution.
  • Ability to simplify complex discussions and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Organizational authority and operating model defined as Market Authority + Technical Expertise.
  • Focus on outcomes over comfort.
  • Accountability for quality and timeliness of responses to market-critical requirements.
  • Role's input treated as expert market intelligence.
  • Authority to escalate directly to senior leadership if necessary.
